Catherine Jennifer creates uplifting, playful art on themes of connection, joy, awe and wonder.
Catherine studied Fine Art (Painting) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, graduating with a first class pass for painting in 1999. In 2000 she moved to the UK, where she has worked ever since, as an artist and freelance graphic designer.
Catherine works in watercolour and mixed media, in a loose style, with a focus on mark-making. Her aim is to create accomplished, thoughtful yet playful art that speaks to the soul and acts as a mirror for people to see inside themselves.
She is a Top Teacher on Skillshare: her classes focus on creativity, drawing, painting and surface pattern design.
She teaches watercolour for beginners courses in Oxford, and runs an Art Club in Kennington, Oxford. She is passionate about helping people to overcome their barriers and to discover the joy of creativity.
Catherine is a mother of four boys, aged 15, 13, and 8-year-old twins. When not working or being a mum, you will find her running through the woods, or smashing a hockey ball on the pitch at the Abingdon Hockey club.
